Dr. Vitaly Kokhanenko

Dr. Vitaly Kokhanenko is a distinguished economist and real-estate expert with more than three decades of leadership experience in property development, investment strategy, and economic policy.
Since 1991 he has served as President of the Sterkh Corporation, a leading investment and consulting group specializing in land and real-estate development for public and private-sector clients.
Born in Almaty in 1959, Dr. Kokhanenko graduated from the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics in 1981 and completed postgraduate studies at the Moscow University of Consumer Cooperation in 1990. He holds a Doctorate in Economics, is a Professor, and an Academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences (RAEN). From 1981 to 1992 he taught at Plekhanov University, contributing to the development of Russia’s emerging market-economy curriculum.
Dr. Kokhanenko has chaired numerous professional organizations, including Zemelnaya Liga, Audit-Tekhnologiya, and Pravovye Tekhnologii, as well as professional-development centers at Plekhanov University for securities-market and real-estate specialists. He is Director of the Institute for Real-Estate Market Development at RAEN, Board Member of the Moscow Investors Association, and Editorial Board Member of the journal Real Estate of the Year.
His publications and policy contributions have significantly influenced the evolution of the real-estate and investment landscape in Russia. A recipient of the “Golden Business of Russia” Award (1995), he is also an Honorary Member of the Chief Executives Club (USA) and a long-standing member of the Moscow English Club.
Beyond his professional career, Dr. Kokhanenko’s interests include philosophy, psychology, and human-resources development. A Master of Sports in épée fencing and former champion of Kazakhstan, he is also an avid equestrian.
